Jewelry embodies a world of beauty neither superior nor inferior to the world of paintings both ancient and modern.  To deliver the beauty and inspiration of this world to you, our clientele, is the mission of Albion Art.

Since the founding in 1970 of our predecessor, Arikawa Jewelry, by Mrs. Mieko Arikawa, in Kita Kyushu, Albion Art has endeavored to provide the most fashionable jewelry of the highest artistic quality.  Since our current president, Mr. Kazumi Arikawa, established Albion Art in the city of Fukuoka in 1980, he has focused on the importation and sales of superior antique European jewelry, while engaging in a broad range of cultural business activities: “Durer & Rembrandt Exhibition”, “Exhibition of a Single Spanish Baroque Painting”, “Exhibition of Alphonse Mucha” and so on were held in-house, in other galleries, and in museums.  Albion art has handled artists of the Barbizon School (Millet, Daubigny, etc), Impressionists (Monet, Renoir, etc), artists of the Ecole de Paris (Laurencin, Chagall, Fujita Tsuguharu, etc), and in 1998 placed the 17th century Spanish Baroque masterpiece “Saint Catherine of Alexandria”, by Murillo, in the Mie Prefectural Museum.  In the course of these repeated forays into the fields of jewelry and fine arts, we have developed the firm belief that “in the fields of art, there are no boundaries.  Beauty and inspiration are the essence of all arts; there is in jewelry a world of beauty and inspiration neither superior nor inferior to the world of paintings both ancient and modern.”  Firm in this belief, we have introduced from abroad carefully selected, superior jewelry both ancient and modern, having great artistic value and beauty.  Among these, not a few have been the equivalent to jewelry in the collections of the world’s museums; we have frequently loaned these to exhibits both in Japan and abroad.  Jewelry is of course art which can be worn, and antique jewelry in particular can be relatively inexpensive.  Many of our items of antique jewelry are quite approachable, and easily add an astonishing éclat to one’s fashion.
