<Description>
Gold, silver and diamond tiara, the gold circlet enclosing a continuous row of collet set diamonds supporting a diamond chain of graduated linked circles surmounted by alternate round and pear shaped diamonds all secured by claws. Late 19th century.
<Commentary>
The empty spaces between the pear-shaped and circular cut diamonds and the openwork chain pattern would give the impression that with these stones stood out from the hair unsupported, as if held there by magic. Such is the power of the diamond that a simple design, as here, is sufficient to show it to draw all eyes towards it.
